Hot New F&B Openings in Outram

The Populus Coffee & Food Co.

Java junkies have a new beans and brunch spot to try out at The Populus Coffee & Food Co. on Neil Road just a few doors down from The LoKal. The design here is modern and mellow with lots of wood panelling on the walls and copper tones on the bar. And seeing as how this is a joint effort by Department of Caffeine and 2Degrees North Coffee Co, you can be sure the blends here are absolutely spot on. Plus, they offer great munchies all day long like the Spring Pancake with Fried Chicken and the Populus Scramble with a buttery croissant, fluffy eggs and crispy bacon.

El Tardeo

If you’re already a fan of the tapas at Binomio, you’ll definitely want to check out their new sister restaurant, El Tardeo, located just next door. The vibe here is casual and cool with seating at wooden tables in the spacious dining room, outdoors or at the bar. Along the bar is a glass case filled with pintxos (Basque-style tapas), and behind it the bartenders concoct cocktails and pour out glasses of house cava at just $7 a pop. Try the Octopus with mini potatoes and smoked paprika, the Fried Pig Trotters Croquettes, or the Tempura Asparagus with romesco sauce.
