Shake Shack Opens Their Doors at The Working Capitol
Here we go guys, it’s here! Shake Shack officially opened their doors last Friday evening to a much-anticipated crowd with lots of hungry folks, Instagram foodies and Shack fans alike.
We were there to take part in the official opening “Shack Clap” ceremony and welcomed their first customers who were in awe of the incredible transformation of the space.
Our 1920’s Heritage building is now host to this iconic brand’s South East Asian Flagship outlet. In what used to be the original Tiger Balm factory, Shake Shack is paying homage to its new location with menu nods celebrating Singaporean flavours and partnerships with home grown brands like Plain Vanilla and Bynd Artisan (a move straight after our own hearts!).
In fact, they created a special “Eye of the Tiger” frozen custard (they call them Concretes) in a lychee raspberry flavour, complete with lime zest and biscuit as a tribute to the history of the property. Our personal favourite is the “Open Sesame” with chocolate from Plain Vanilla atop a swirl of black sesame – a combo we never thought to try but were pleasantly surprised by!
We’ve already started to work our way through their tasty menu and cannot wait for our members and the community to get a chance to try their perfected flavours and creations. Some of our members already got a sneak-peak last week as Shake Shack’s GM surprised The Working Capitol with a “Burger Drop” whetting the palates of lucky members ready for an afternoon snack.
We were not only treated to their lively new mural by local artist Samantha Lo (aka @skl0_), but also got a cool light show as they lit up the Neil Road / Craig Road corner with some funky lights and beats to amp up the neighbourhood in anticipation of their launch.
We for one loved seeing the building lit up and the ground floor come to life with a beautifully designed space by the talented team at zebra!
