The Populus Coffee & Food Co.
This joint on Neil Road is making waves for their great coffee by 2Degrees North Coffee Co. The design here is modern and mellow, which make it a great spot to pop in anytime. Their all day menu includes heavenly-sounding items like buckwheat pancakes with berry fruit compote, passion fruit curd, cornflake crumb, thyme infused maple syrup, and flowers. Breakfast anyone?

The LoKal
The LoKal is all about great coffee and great food in a convivial environment. The decor here is industrial chic, while the menu features enticing breakfast and lunch dishes like paninis and salads made with ingredients whipped up from scratch, such as house smoked salmon, cured bacon, and homemade ricotta. Their coffee beans are by Common Man Coffee Roasters, some of our favourite roasters on the island.

Ninja Bowl
If you’re on Duxton Road, pop into this new-ish spot. While they’re known for their Japanese-style rice bowls, they also have great offerings for brunch and delicious desserts and treats served all day, which go great with their coffee by Smitten Specialty Coffee and Tea.

MavRx Coffee Apothecary
This tiny little space goes large when it comes to strong, smooth blends served up with lashings of panache. The coffee comes from Allpress Espresso from Australia and changes depending on the season to include blends of beans from coffee-growing regions as far flung as Ethiopia, Guatemala and Sumatra. It’s a tiny spot but it’s perfect if all you’re looking for is a jolt for the day.

The Daily Roundup
Serving as the main entrance of The Working Capitol, The Daily Roundup is a cool cafe that focuses on crepes. They use premium ingredients like artisanal butter and organic buckwheat flour, and you have your choice of sweet and savoury fillings like spicy chorizo sausage, Italian burrata cheese, creamy Nutella, or fresh berries. They also offer seasonal cold press juices, homemade ginger beer and Papa Palheta coffee.
